Decorative stone can be used as walkways , in feature areas, on top on stop of a sub base for driveways and as a non organic weed mat in flower beds and pots.
When using in walkways we recommend laying a weed mat first to limit weed growth from the sand or soil. If you are using a paver as a stepping stone we recommend using a wide stepping stone in smaller areas as this will make the area look larger.
A contrasting stepping stone is more effective. Eg In Black gravel use a cream stepper.
Stone and gravel is a great option for a non organic mulch, particularly in areas that you want to put limited planting as it will last for years and will not rot down adding nutrients to the soil in areas you don’t want it to. Remember weeds love a good soil too, so don’t always go throwing mulch around as a weed suppressant, stone is a far better option. If you just want a low budget option eg you are planning a pool later then consider our recycled options to make it easier on the pocket.
